IS THE FUTURE FLEXIBLE?
With employers looking to reduce their office footprints, employees looking to minimise commutes and use technology to connect with work - is the future flexible?
Working with BVA BDRC we asked 1200 senior decision makers their views - our June study shows:
- 44% of the workforce is currently working remotely or in a hybrid set up
- By the end of 2021 this number is expected to have dropped to 36%
- Unsurprisingly London based businesses or those based in offices will have the highest number of new hybrid workers
- Younger companies [<5 years] already had a high proportion of employees working flexibly
- Longer established companies will be greatest contributors to the growth in remote / hybrid working
The future was already flexible. As larger organisations downsize their office footprints in the large cities it's safe to say that local working hubs / flexible work spaces will build in numbers and popularity.
